How to Get a Cut like Hammy and Brody

We know we are going to have a good day when we wake up from a good night’s rest, having a good fur day! A lot of our furiends have wondered how to get their fur cut like ours, so here we are, ready to answer your questions!

Let’s first ask the expert, Charley Helm (@thehighbrowhound), the person we trust the most with our fur!

We visit Charley every two weeks to get ourselves looking our best. When we go for our grooming, we get a modified lamb cut.

A lamb cut is traditionally a haircut used on poodles but when modified, can look fantastic on any breed with some curl in their hair (the two of us are proof!). Essentially, lamb cut is a shorter length of fur on the body with fuller legs.

The fuller legs are achieved by hand scissoring and should generally be about two to three lengths shorter than the body.

For us, we get the fur on our heads completely hand scissored as well.

We totally love the way this style looks on us and always feel super handsome as soon as we are done with our grooming!

To maintain the amazing work Charley does, we make sure to comb out our fur every morning and night with Chicago Comb Company (@chicagocombco) and remove eye debris with a flee comb! Daily maintenance is SUPER important to avoid matting, especially with Hammy’s fur who has very fine, silky hair.

If any of our furiends want to try out this cut, we totally recommend it and would love to see you rock the lamb cut too! Tag us in any photos on Instagram if this is your next grooming style! @hammyandbrody
